Engineers and Geoscientists BC is currently searching for a Coordinator, Volunteer Program to join our team in Burnaby on a 1-year contract!

The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for supporting the volunteer program operations and program delivery and reports to the Manager, Volunteer Program. This includes involvement in recruitment, screening, and orientation procedures, promoting the program within the community, and maintaining volunteer documentation using management tools. The coordinator supports recognition, networking, and training opportunities, coordinates regular communications and resources for support staff and volunteers, and provides program statistics for reports. 

The role involves collaborating with support staff to maintain program goals and policies and fostering partnerships with community organizations and educational institutions for recruitment and resources. They are responsible for collaborating with support staff and volunteer groups, ensuring they receive necessary support and guidance in maintaining a positive volunteer experience.

WHAT YOU WILL DO IN THE ROLE 

  • Coordinate and be involved with strategies and initiatives for volunteer program goals and objectives, as determined by the Manager, Volunteer Program.
  • Support volunteer program operations and program delivery.
  • Support with contributing to recruitment, screening, and orientation procedures.
  • Promote the volunteer program within the community to support recruitment efforts. Foster partnerships with community organizations and educational institutions for volunteer recruitment and resources.
  • Maintain volunteer documentation and records using various volunteer management tools.
  • Organize recognition, networking, and training opportunities for support staff and volunteers.
  • Collaborate with volunteer support staff through recruitment, screening, training, and support for cohesive volunteer program management.
  • Support in maintaining volunteer program goals, objectives, and policies.
  • Other duties as assigned by management. 

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE 

The successful applicant will possess the following: 

  • Diploma in Social Sciences is required; a Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Certified in Volunteer Administration (CVA) is an asset but not required.
  • 2-5 years of proven experience as a Volunteer Coordinator or in a similar role.
  • Demonstrated success in supporting a volunteer management cycle.
  • Familiarity with various software applications for volunteer management.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; public speaking and presentation skills.
  • Ability to plan, coordinate and support the execution of events.
  • Excellent attention to detail, with strong organizational and administrative skills.

This role offers a competitive compensation and benefits program including a salary within our hiring range of $59,500 to $66,500. Placement within the hiring range will be based on candidate experience relative to the requirements of the role.
